DarkSyde Acres Voted BEST Haunted House in Detroit
2 Months ago WDIV Channel 4 click on Detroit , started a contest to pick the BEST local businesses in Metro Detroit. There were many category’s with hundreds of sub catergory’s and even more choices after that. After 2 months of collecting votes, the VOTE 4 THE BEST contest announced the winners. DarkSyde Acres Haunted House and Attractions is very proud to announce that we were voted the BEST Haunted House in the Metro Detroit area for 2012! Coming in a close second was the Terrorfied Forest and Manor out of Pickney, Michigan and the Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac, Michigan took Third place. Many of you may recall Erebus was once the Worlds largest walk thru haunted House.

Darksyde Sponsors 2 Zombie Dash Events in 2012
DarkSyde acres Haunted House is proud to announce that they will be sponsoring both the Holly and the Grand Rapids 2012 ZOMBIE DASH this fall. Zombies are HOT right now and the infection is spreading rapidly, The Zombie Dash has been promoted as the World’s MOST TERRIFYING night race. Participants can choose to be Survivors/Runners or Various stages of Infected Zombies in this unique themed version of capture the flag. I’m not sure which role I would like to be in this race but it sure sounds like a lot of FUN!
5 Kilometer race against darkness
On October 13th, 2012 Zombies and Survivors will converge on Holly , Michigan at the Holly State recreation Park, between Detroit, and Flint to take part in the first of two Zombie Dash’s scheduled in October, Hosted by Michigan Adventure Racing. Runners will Race a 5.75 kilometer course through a dark wooded trail, in the Holly State Recreation park, while being chased by infected zombie participants. There well be a Zombie Costume Contest and Awards ceremony after the race. On October 27, 2012, Zombies and Survivors will again converge , but this time in Grand Rapids, Michigan to take part in a 5 kilometer race. The Participants will be meeting in Ah-Nab-Awen Park, in downtown Grand Rapids. Survivors will run through the Quarantine Zone within Down Town Grand Rapids attempting to avoid the Zombie Hordes. Once again there will be a zombie costume Contest and awards ceremony afterwards.

DarkSyde Acres Haunted House is a proud sponsor of the Bundy Hill Off-Road Pit Trash Shoot Out on September 15th and 16th, 2012. DarkSyde Acres will be bringing out our girls and a few Zombies to set up a Zombie Paintball Booth where Bundy Hill guests can shoot our ZOMBIES! The Pit Trash Shoot Out is Michigan’s WILDEST and Most EXTREME Off Road course, Featuring 1 mile of Bone crushing, Jeep eating, Suspension twisting crevices, hills, and obstacles, competing to win BIG MONEY! DarkSyde attended the 2011 pit Trash Shoot out and let me tell you, These guys take their off-roading seriously! When the time comes for us to build a zombie apocalypse off-road vehicle, these are the guys Im going to want on our side!
Zombie Paintball
So as I mentioned earlier DarkSyde Acres Haunted House and Attractions will be on hand September 15th, 2012 to set up a Zombie Paintball challenge where Bundy Hill off-road recreational park guests can get a preview of DarkSyde Acres very own Zombie Massacre Paintball Challenge. Did I mention that we will be bringing out the DarkSyde Girls as well.. Guys wash those Rigs because now’s a perfect chance to get a beautiful girl with your rig picture! Come on out and shoot some Zombies!

DarkSyde Acres Haunted House in Jonesville, Michigan is a proud sponsor of the Jackson Michigan Zombie Walk for the March of Dimes Charity. Zombies may not have a lot of meat left on their bones BUT they sure do have a lot of heart. Come join the Zombie Hordes in Jackson, Michigan on October 13, 2012 as they stagger through downtown Jackson in a effort to raise money for the March of Dimes charity organization. Started in 2008 with a few friends having a good time, the event has grown into an annual Charity event that raise money and awareness to their cause.
Jackson Zombie Walk Details
The 2012 Jackson, Michigan Zombie Walk/Fun Run will be held on October 13th. They will be registering the horde a little earlier this year with registration beginning @ 4:30. There will be a $10 registration fee if you would like a T-Shirt to commemorate your participation. If not, any donation amount will be appreciated. All Proceeds from Sponsors and Participants go to the March of Dimes. start point is at 1025 North Wisner Street, Jackson, Michigan 49202.

DarkSyde Acres Haunted House in Jonesville Michigan is proud to announce that we will be a Sponsor in the 2012 WICKED HALLOWEEN RUN in Plymouth Michigan on Sunday, October, 28th 2012. The Wicked Halloween Run is being organized for its second year by the Kona Running Company. They are also the organizers of the Solstice Run & ShamRock n Roll Run. The Run features 3 races, a 5K, a 10K and Monster Mile.
Monster Mash
There will a Entertainment & Monster Mash Party with a Live Onstage Dance Performance of Michael Jackson’s hit song “Thriller” by the Piazza Dance Co. at start of each race event, and a DJ at Kellogg Park with a Food & Beverage Buffet
They will also be hosting a Halloween Costume Contest between 7:45 and 8:45 with an awards ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Be sure to dress up in your best Halloween costume.

Michael Clarke Duncan Dies
One of my Favorite Actors Michael Clarke Duncan has died at the very young age of 54 nearly 2 months after having a Heart Attack on July 13. Michael Clarke Duncan was well known for his Larger than life persona and many starring roles in major films including The GREEN MILE with Tom Hanks.
Rest In Piece Big Guy, would have Loved to had you act out here at DarkSyde Acres Haunted House just one time!
Our thoughts and Prayers are extended to Mr. Duncan’s Family and friends in this time.
